my troubles, they are serious
I was all snuggled up in my bed an hour ago, ready for sleep, Stepbrothers cued up on my laptop, water on my bedside table, a beer tucked in next to me, and, well, you see where this is going, don’t you?
I spilled the beer. All over my clean sheets and half of my comforter. Thankfully I’d already drank 3/4ths of the beer so it wasn’t as epic a spill as it could have been, but...
I'm thinking a family dinner, but actual Christmas...
N: So, okay, I know I'm acting like a bratty twelve year-old, but seriously? Seriously, they're planning, like, a hero's homecoming for my sister and nobody's even offered to pick me up at the airport.
Me: I'll pick you up at the airport.
N: That's not the point! The point is...I'm being petty. I'm coming home for Christmas for the first time in two years and I kind of wanted them to be excited about it instead of, you know, shoving me off to the side to worship at the altar of my sister. Again.
Me: I'm a middle child, so I've had years of practice of being ignored. I can totally teach you how to be sneaky about your pettiness and revenge. We can sabotage something!
N: Or just get drunk. Either one would be fun.
Me: No fucking way. We're getting drunk AND sabotaging something!
N: You kind of just gave me a girl boner of excitement right then.
